Wild animals in TV ads
Archive - May 2006
CAPS is currently campaigning against the use of animals in
two TV ads. Our previous campaigns have had a big impact and
several companies have agreed to stop using animals in the commercials
Sure
A new TV ad for Sure, a deodorant made by Unilever, features no
fewer than nine wild animals. Although most of the animals in the
'Go Wild' ad are computer generated, live animals used include:
three chimps, one bison, two bears, one hyena, one mandrill and
one orangutan.
How you can help
- Please contact Unilever, asking them to pull the ad and to not
use animals in future commercials:
Phone the Sure customer line on freephone 0800 0852 639 or
e-mail Samantha.

Magic 105.4
A new TV ad for London radio station Magic 105.4 features a grizzly
bear named Koda who is portrayed as taking part in the radio station's
'Music is Money' competition, hosted by DJ Neil Fox.
The 30-second advert was created by agency St Luke's, which flew
to Vancouver, Canada to film the bear. Koda was supplied by Creative
Animal Talent, a company that has over 100 animals including bears,
mountain lions and wolves and supplies them to the film industry.
