Rattling the Cages50 Years of Campaigning for Animals

2007 marks the 50th anniversary of the founding of CAPS. Established in 1957 by retired teacher Irene Heaton, CAPS is today recognised as one of the world’s leading animal rights organisations campaigning against the use of animals in entertainment, particularly in circuses, zoos, the exotic pet trade and advertising.

A new history of CAPS - Rattling the Cages - has just been published. Read a brief history of CAPS or get a copy of the full version here.

Our anniversary has brought in many comments of support from all over the world, and you can read comments from local, national and international organisations and from some of our supporters
